The place
The Kerala House has been operating in Vasant Vihar since 2011. The name is literal: it is run by a family from Thrissur, and the therapists — all four of them — trained at Arya Vaidya Sala in Kottakkal before coming to Delhi. The oils are sourced directly from Kerala and prepared in-house. There is nothing fashionable about the space. It is a working Ayurvedic centre in a residential neighbourhood, and it has been full every day for thirteen years on word of mouth alone. The waiting list for new patients runs to three weeks.
The setting
Ground floor of a residential building converted into four treatment rooms and a consultation space. Herb preparation area open to view. Small waiting room with Ayurvedic texts.

Treatments
What happens in the session
Abhyanga 60 minutes₹3,200+
Two-therapist synchronised oil massage using Kerala-sourced medicated oils.
What happens
Both therapists work in mirrored movements from head to foot. The oil is prescribed after constitution assessment. A steam treatment follows for guests on programme.
Good for: Constitution imbalance, stress, skin conditions, pre-Panchakarma preparation.
Pizhichil 60 minutes₹5,500+
Continuous pouring of warm medicated oil over the body while being gently massaged — a royal treatment.
What happens
Two therapists pour a continuous stream of warm oil in coordinated movements while maintaining light massage strokes. The oil volume used is significant. Rest for 30 minutes afterward.
Good for: Rheumatic conditions, paralysis recovery, severe vata imbalance, deep exhaustion.
Njavarakizhi 60 minutes₹4,800+
Massage with boluses filled with Njavara rice cooked in herbal milk — nourishing and deeply warming.
What happens
Boluses are dipped repeatedly in warm herbal milk and applied with rhythmic strokes. The rice-milk mixture penetrates the skin and nourishes the tissue. Deeply warming.
Good for: Muscle wasting, weakness, post-illness recovery, neurological conditions.
Nasyam 30 minutes₹2,500+
Medicated oil administration through the nasal passages, preceded by face and neck massage.
What happens
Face and neck are warmed with steam and massaged to open the channels. Medicated oil is then administered drop by drop. Rest quietly for 20 minutes after.
